Former CTO NASA, Founder and CEO Stealth Space Company and Co Founder of Nebula and OpenStack
Mr. Chris C. Kemp founded Nebula, Inc. in April 2011 and has been its Chief Strategy Officer since September 23, 2013 and also served as its Chief Executive Officer until September 23, 2013. Mr. Kemp served as the Chief Technology Officer at Information Technology at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) since May 2010. Mr. Kemp was responsible for the agency's Enterprise Architecture division and for introducing new and emerging technologies into IT planning and implementation.
He formulates and oversees a new CTO Council with participants from NASA's mission organizations and field centers. Beginning in 2007, he served as Chief Information Officer at NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. Before that, he served as Ames' Director of Strategic Business Development and helped forge partnerships with Google and Microsoft. Prior to joining NASA in 2006, Mr. Kemp co-founded Escapia, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Escapia, he served as the Chief SoftwareArchitect of ClassMates.Com. Prior to, he served as Vice President of Internet technology of Display Edge Technology. He also co-founded Netran Interactive Commerce, Inc. and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer since 1995.
Before Netran, Mr. Kemp served as a Systems Engineer of SiliconGraphics Computer Systems. He contributed to the creation of the first online grocery shopping platform for Kroger, the world's largest grocery store chain. He serves as a Member of the Board of Advisors at The Golden Spike Company. He served as Chairman of Netran Interactive Commerce, Inc. since 1995. He serves as a Director of Nebula, Inc. He has been a Director of Scalr, Inc. since August 2015. He serves as a Director of Netran Interactive Commerce, Inc. He also served as chairman of the White House Federal Cloud Computing Standards Working Group and was a member of the Cloud Computing Executive Steering Committee. Mr. Kemp also authored and co-developed the book Web Programming with Perl 5, published by Macmillan in 1997.
